Its almost the end of the year and here to give us a market update for the real estate market in the US and Portland is real estate expert Nick Krautter from Keller Williams real estate and Sellpdx.com

Q. What are the highlights from the national market?

A. Interest rates are still in the mid-three’s, new home sales are at a two year high, and foreclosures are at a five year low. Stocks for the 5 largest home builders are up 70-178% year to date!

Q. How are things looking locally?

A. The inventory of available homes is still very low which means in most areas it is a seller’s market.

Q. How do you think we’ll finish out this year?

A. I think 2012 will finish strong in Portland and that time will show that this is the year we started the recovery and made strides in the right direction.
