An excerpt from the article is below…
“Portland is in the middle of one of its hottest summers ever – for real estate sales.
Realtors are comparing this summer’s real estate sales to the super-charged summer of 2005, when they were closing 3,000 home sales a month in the Portland region.
That was before the market crash.
This past June, the Portland area again saw more than 3,000 home sales, for the first time since before the crash.
Realtor, Nick Krautter, with Keller Williams tracks sale numbers within the city of Portland. He says those numbers show more home sales in July. He expects sales in August could be a monthly record.
‘There’s a huge trend of people moving to Portland, so we could see this continue a bit longer,’ Krautter said. ‘I certainly think we’ll see home appreciation continue for a little longer, given how low our inventory is right now.’
Anyone looking to buy a house in Portland knows about rising prices. Krautter says the average sale price is approaching 370-thousand dollars. That’s record territory, too.“
